FEBRUARY 01, 2007 - INSPIRING STORY, CHILDREN'S UNIVERSE DAYCARE CENTRES, HELP LITTLE SHANE MAKE A WORLD RECORD.


Hi! I heard about this story on the radio on my home from work today (@ CHEO). As it turns out I know who the patient is (not personally but I have done lab work on his blood samples) This is the most heartfelt story and I really want as many people to help so that this little's boy Wish can come true.

Shane is a 7 year old boy who, for the past year, has been staying in the Oncology Ward at CHEO. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and his big Wish is to receive the most greeting cards before his 8th birthday on May 30th and to make a World Record.

KISS FM radio station in Ottawa is being used as the drop off for all these cards and they will then be transported to the Shane at the hospital.

I think this is such a fantastic idea. So many people have already phoned into the station saying they have gotten their school's involved as class projects to send cards to Shane. the Universities and all sorts of Companies and individuals in Ottawa and the region have phoned to say they will collect cards and help in way they can.

I know there's so many emails that are out there about some penniless sick kid and every email sent will send 5 cents and whatever...well this isn't one of those, it's a REAL true story about a brave little boy who has a dream. I know it's real because I have seen his blood samples and worked on them myself in the lab.

Please forward this on to everyone you know. Get classmates involved, family, friends,housemates etc.. There's no harm in reading this, visit the websites and it's up to you whether you want to help set a world record or not by sending a homemade or store bought birthday card to Shane.

JUNE 3, 2006 - BLACKBURN FUN FAIR The children, staff and parents from Children's Universe Daycare - Blackburn Hamlet Centre, will be participating in the Opening Parade and other special events at the 36th annual Blackburn Fun Fair.
